Website redesign ROI calculator

Estimate the extra revenue and payback period of a website redesign from a modest lift in your conversion rate.

What the redesign returns

Extra revenue / month€4,000
Extra revenue / year€48,000
Payback period1.5 months

A small conversion lift compounds monthly: the same traffic simply turns more visitors into orders, every month.

Indicative estimate based on your inputs. Real results depend on traffic quality, offer and how much the redesign actually moves conversion.

How to work out the ROI of a website redesign

A redesign rarely changes how many people visit your site — it changes how many of them buy. That is why conversion rate is the number to watch. Lifting conversion from 1.5% to 2.5% on the same traffic means a third more orders every month, with no extra spend on ads or SEO. This calculator turns that lift into euros so you can weigh it against the project cost.

The maths is simple: extra revenue per month equals your monthly visitors times the conversion gain times your average order value. Multiply by twelve for the annual figure, then divide the redesign cost by the monthly gain to get the payback period. The key insight is that the gain recurs every month while the cost is paid once, so even a modest lift usually pays back within a year and compounds well beyond it.

  • It varies by starting point and how much the current site holds people back, but moving from around 1.5% to 2.5% is a common target for an ecommerce or lead site with clear friction to remove. If your current rate is already strong, expect smaller gains and test the assumption before committing.
